The four accused were arrested from a house in the Railway colony here and a pistol, cash worth Rs 8.5 lakh, a laptop, a photocopy machine and bundle of papers were seized from them, DCP (West), Ajay Pal Lamba, said.

Three other persons were later arrested from an exam centre for copying with the help of the leaked key, the DCP said.

Lamba said police received a tip-off less than two hours before the examination that some persons were selling papers of the examination from a quarter of a Railway colony.

"We raided the house and found four persons there in possession of exactly the same papers set for the examinations. We arrested them and seized a pistol, a laptop, a photo copy machine from them besides a cash of Rs 8.5 lakh," Lamba said.

He said of the seven apprehended, four belong to Barmer, two are from Nagaur and one is from Jodhpur.

Roadways had set up 12 examination centers across the city, where over 5,000 examinees had appeared for the exam scheduled from 11:00 AM to 01:00 PM, for the posts of drivers, conductors and artisans in Rajasthan Roadways on Sunday.

Zonal Manager of Jodhpur Roadway office, Mahaveer Prasad Dadhich said, "We will send a report on the entire matter to the headquarter for final decision."
