National Democratic Front of Bodoland-Songbijit's self-styled area commander Ratan Boro and three others were nabbed during an operation by the troops of the Red Horns Division, the sources said.
The other apprehended insurgents were identified as Sanjib Boro, Namalu Boro and Chiran Boro.
The recoveries include two 7.65 mm pistols, one .22 pistol, three magazines, 11 hand grenades, 43 live ammunitions, two mobile phones and 13 SIM cards, they said.
Ratan Boro was involved in various violent activities including killings, kidnappings, extortion and anti-national activities, and was under close surveillance of the Army for a long time before he was apprehended, the sources added.
