The lift of a tower crane collapsed Monday from a height of about 35 feet at a DDA flats construction site in Narela area, killing four workers, police said.
The incident occurred at around 4.30 pm when a service engineer and three labourers were working on the lift of the tower crane, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rohini) Rajneesh Gupta said.
He said Pramod (30), Sonu (25), Sonu (27) and Raj Kumar (25) were injured in the incident. They were rushed to a hospital where they were declared brought dead, he said.
A case was registered, he said, adding further investigation is underway.
The lift collapsed from a height of about 35 feet from the ground due to some unknown reason, he said, adding the four men were in the lift which was open from all four sides.
