Freedom fighter Omprakash passes away
Press Trust of India Muzaffarnagar Freedom fighter Omprakash passed away following prolonged illness at his native town Gharipukhta in Shamli district.
He was 90.
He passed away yesterday and is survived by four daughters and two sons-- retired Deputy Superintendent of Police Tejpal Singh, Inspector Mahipal Singh.
The mortal remains were consigned to flames with full state honours at Gharipukhta, polce said today.
Omprakash had participated in the freedom struggle after joining the Azad Hind Fauj and served a jail sentence, they said.
