The house is still not in order as far as Delhi & Districts Cricket Association (DDCA) is concerned as coach Ajay Jadeja is yet to receive any official intimation while skipper Gautam Gambhir, recovering from viral fever is expected to join the nets tomorrow.
Meanwhile, in another bizarre move today, DDCA joint secretary (sports) Anil Jain issued a list of 76 cricketers for the U-19 state team which will be picked for the Vinoo Mankad Trophy.
While a few of the names are also there in the senior list, it is unfathomable that a junior state cricket team trials will have as many as 76 players.
During another lackadaisical practice session today, the only difference was presence of chairman of senior selection committee Vinay Lamba and his colleague Hari Gidwani. The other selector Rahul Sanghvi now stays in Mumbai and is expected to join them in the next few days.
A source close to Gambhir said that the former India opener was running temperature for the last two days and luckily it was detected as "viral fever". He is expected to drop in at the Kotla tomorrow.
However there is still no clarity on Jadeja despite the all-powerful executive committee passing his name for the chief coach's post.
"I know Jadeja must be feeling that he should atleast have an official documentation of his appointment before joining the nets. I don't blame him for that," said Ashok Sharma, one of the directors in the executive committee.
