The MoU, signed in presence of state tourism minister Ashok Panda, was done for operation and management of the interpretation centre at Khandagiri-Udaygiri.
"The centre will be called Eternal Gandhi Peace Centre - a joint initiative of government of Odisha and Aditya Birla Group," Panda said.
The objective of signing the MoU is to develop the project in a sustainable way and to bring inclusive economic growth for the state.
The project involves installation of a life size statue of Mahatma Gandhi with interactive multimedia shows related to the teachings of Gandhi and depiction of the tenets of Jainism. The MoU will remain valid for 15 years.
The tourism department expects the centre will attract huge number of domestic and international visitors to this historic site, Panda said.
It will extensively propagate Gandhian principle and Jain ideology, he said.
