The CBSE has suggested to schools a series of activities which could be held students of various classes during the 'GANIT (Growing Aptitude in numerical innovations and training) week, officials said.
One of the suggested activities is 'Mathematics Relay Race' in which students would be divided in groups of 5-8 and questions would be prepared and teams will move ahead in the race only after solving those questions.
A CBSE official said that "several students have a fear of mathematics as a subject and to encourage them to learn the subject joyfully it could go a long way in instilling enthusiasm and confidence in them for the subject."
Officials added that CBSE to pay tribute to Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya, has also has also decided to hold on December 16, a competition for students in which they will submit their essays and poems on certain topics.
