The girl, who managed to escape, told police here yesterday that she used to get exploited and assaulted at the house of the BJP leader, police said.
An ASI, who had registered the girl's statement here, has been suspended on charges of failing to handle the matter effectively, they said.
The FIR was not lodged in Jalandhar and the statement of the girl, recorded here, has been referred to Ludhiana police commissioner for further action, they said.
