Self-styled 'godman' Samir Das alias Sadhu (42) and his two associates were arrested last midnight after a woman, resident of Balagarh in Hooghly district, lodged a complaint at Ballygunge police station last evening, the officer said.
"It was a year back when the woman went to Das' Beltala Road office after seeing his advertorial show on a local channel for consultation on family problems. In her complaint she alleged that she gave Das Rs 1,20,000 in cash and gold jewellery," the investigating police officer said.
Not ready to give up she visited his place again and was allegedly molested by Das along with his two associates who further threatened her with dire consequences, the officer said quoting the complaint.
A case has been registered against the three under Sections 420, 120B, 509, 506 of IPC, and arrested.
