Gold, cash stolen from grocery trader's flat in Nashik

Gold items and cash were allegedly stolen by a gang of thieves from an apartment in Panchavati locality here, police said today.
The burglars broke open the flat of grocery trader Nemichand Munot last evening when no one was at home and stole some gold items and about Rs eight lakh cash before fleeing, Panchavati police station in-charge Shantaram Avasare said.
Some people residing in Munot's neighbourhood informed police when they found his apartment open, he said.
A search has been launched for the culprits, he said adding that police was examining the CCTV footage of the area to trace them.
Munot had gone to Pimpalgaon-Baswant following the death of a relative when the incident took place.
