37-year-old Meenaskhi was taking her son home after a medical check up when the two youths dashed their vehicle against her moped last night, police said.
Meenakshi sustained serious head injuries and in the melee, the youths attempted to snatch her chain. However, as both mother and son raised alarm, people rushed to the spot and the youths fled from the scene.
People took the woman and son to a private hospital from where they were shifted to the government hospital here, where Meenakshi died this morning, police said.
