Revising the schedule of the Assembly session, Jharkhand cabinet today decided to add one more sitting to accommodate Governor Syed Ahmed's address to the House under Article 176 (1).
As per the provisions of the article, the Governor addresses the house at the commencement of the first session of each year.
Jharkhand was under President's rule since January 18 before it was revoked.
According to an official release quoting the cabinet decision, Chief Minister Hemant Soren will table the vote of confidence motion for debate and voting on July 18. The Governor will address the House on July 25.
The House will not meet between the two sittings, the release said.
Soon after taking over the oath on July 13, the cabinet had decided to convene a special session on July 18 to place the vote of confidence motion.
