"We don't expect any constructive comments from Narendra Modi as his mindset has become such that he criticise all development initiatives taken by the Central government," AICC spokesman Prem Chand Singh told reporters here.
Briefing the media about National Food Security Ordinance, Singh was recalling Modi's criticism of the UPA government's food security programme.
Modi had on Sunday said the Centre was under the impression that merely bringing in the Bill would lead to food reaching the needy.
"The states need not have to fear for any financial burden as the Centre has taken care of it till it reaches the Targeted Public Distribution System," the AICC leader said.
He said up to 75 per cent of rural population and up to 50 per cent of the urban population will have uniform entitlement of five kg food grains per month at highly subsidised prices of Rs 3, Rs 2 and Rs one per kg for rice, wheat and coarse grains respectively.
The Yojna was launched during the A B Vajpayee's regime.
