Describing the Jammu and Kashmir Governor's address to the state assembly as clueless about vital issues, the CPI(M) today said that even Pathriabal fake encounter case, AFSPA's withdrawal and other important issues have not been reflected in it.
"The Governor's address is clueless about vital issues. Even important issues like reverting of Pathriabal fake encounter case, withdrawal of Disturbed Areas Act and Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA), return of youth under rehabilitation policy and other important issues have not been reflected in it", state's CPIM secretary Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami said here.
Reacting on the state Governor N N Vohra's address, the Kulgam MLA said, he regrets about silence that was maintained over the issue of restarting of LOC trade.
"There was no mention in the Address about constituting of Truth and Reconciliation Commission to probe the killings in militancy related incidents, the criteria adopted for creation and rationalisation of new administrative units, providing doctors and para-medical staff to the hospitals functioning across the state", he said.
"There was no mention about the submitting of the recommendations by Cabinet Sub Committee in respect of the implementation of Justice Sagheer Committee Report, about providing of ration to the people on the basis of 2011 census", Tarigami said.
He regretted that the government remained silent about waiving of the interest component in favour of the horticulture growers for their colossal losses due to the hail storm and drought this year, about the payment of wages to thousands of DRWs/Casual labourers/need bases/CPWs/seasonal labourers working in various departments in the state.
"To the utter dismay, there was no mention in the Address about enhancing the ration money/ payment of stalled ration money to the police personnel in J&K and also no mention of formulation of comprehensive policy for regularisation/ enhancing honorarium to SPOs and about the removal of pay anomaly of government employees including police personnel," the MLA said.
He opined "the government has remained silent about the payment of arrears of third instalment and pending DA arrears to the state pensioners."
Also there was no mention about holding of elections to the Urban Local Bodies in the state, Tarigami added.
