A government doctor was today arrested by sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau of Rajasthan police for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000 here, an official said.
The accused identified as Dr Murlidhar Sharma, posted at Community Heath Center of Ramgarh in Dausa district, had lodged a case against an alleged quack Ishwar Sindhi for illegally practicing medicine, he said.
Sharma demanded Rs One lakh from Sindhi's son to give a statement in favour of his father in court but the deal was settled at Rs 30,000, he said.
"A trap was laid and the accused was held from outside the State Institute of Health and Family Welfare here where he had come for a training programme," Inspector General of Anti Corruption Bureau, Dinesh M N said.
During investigation, it came to light the accused used to get FIRs lodged against the quacks operating in Ramgarh-Dausa area who refused to bribe him for allowing them to continue their activities, he said.
