The regional transport department has finalized the routes for the four districts of the state with the help of administration and Nagar Nigam officials. The transport office will allot different colour codes to the e-rickshaws for smoother operation, department officer Mayank Jyoti said.
As per the planning, 400 e-rickshaws in Noida, 500 in Hapur, 500 in Bulandshahr and 600 in Ghaziabad will be permitted to operate, he said.
The coloured radium stripes will be fixed on the rickshaws to indicate their route of plying, the officer said, adding that the colours are yet to be decided and the department is screening the received application for allotment of permits.
