Govt working on protecting individuals' privacy

The Centre is working on a legislation that seeks to protect individuals against their breach of privacy through unlawful means, Rajya Sabha was informed today.
"The Government is in the process of drafting a legislation that seeks to provide protection to individuals against breach of their privacy through unlawful means, which, at present, is at the consultation stage," Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Jitendra Singh said in a written reply.
The Personnel Ministry is in the process of drafting a Right to Privacy Bill in this regard, official sources said.
