Refined palmolein also softened owing to reduced retail buying.
Meanwhile, castorseeds bold, castoroil commercial and linseedoil ruled steady in the absence of any largescale buying.
In the futures market, castorseeds prices gained further amid higher export enquiries.
In the edible section, groundnut oil fell by Rs 10 per 10 kg to Rs 1,260 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 1,270 and refined palmolein inched down by rupee per 10 kg to Rs 511 from Rs 512 previously.
Turning to futures, castorseed March contract resumed lower at Rs 3,670 and drifted to Rs 3,650 before regaining to close at Rs 3,700 from Rs 3,682 last weekend, showing a gain of Rs 18 per tonne.
Moving to non-edible segment, Castorseeds bold and castoroil commercial and linseedoil all closed unaltered at Rs 3,525 per 100 kg, Rs 735 per 10kg, and Rs 855 per 10 kg, respectively.
