Leader of Opposition in Gujarat Assembly Shankersinh Vaghela, who represents Kapadvanj seat of Kheda district, took on the state government on the issue of scuffle between locals and police at Apruji-na-Muvada village of adjoining Kheda days back. To control angry villagers, police had fired at least 15 rounds.
"Atrocities on poor villagers took place in my constituency. This BJP-led government is intentionally spreading political terrorism in Congress pockets to hide their inability. Since this area is a Congress stronghold, villagers are being thrashed out of vindictiveness," alleged Vaghela talking to reporters here today.
According to Vaghela, villagers are now forced to remain awake all through the night out of panic.
"Though the government knew that such a rumour has gripped the minds of villagers, the administration did nothing to restore order. The attack on police in Apruji-na-Muvada was the result of such panic," claimed Vaghela, who visited the village yesterday.
