Guj has got almost 90 pc of average annual rainfall till Mon

Gujarat has received nearly 90 per cent of its average annual rainfall till Monday, with districts like Bharuch, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Botad, Surat, Kutch and Valsad receiving more than 100 per cent, the State Emergency Operation Centre said.

As per SEOC data, Gujarat has received 730.91 mm rainfall, or 89.57 per cent of the average annual rainfall, till Monday.

It said Bharuch in south Gujarat received 133.27 per cent of its average annual rainfall, followed by Chhota Udepur at 121.53 per cent, Narmada at 115.03 per cent, Botad at 109.08 per cent and Surat at 107.81 per cent.

Banaskantha, Mehsana, Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad are among the districts which have so far received between 60-70 per cent average annual rainfall.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the state is likely to receive widespread to fairly widespread rainfall over the next three days, especially north Gujarat districts like Banaskantha, Patan, Panchmahal and Kheda.

As many as 50 of the state's 251 talukas have received more than 1000 mm rainfall this season, while another 111 talukas have received between 500-1000 mm rainfall during this period, the data showed.

Only six talukas have received 251-500 mm rainfall, it informed.
