Gujarat: 3 win by less than 1,000 votes, 1 by over 1 lakh

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's close aide Anandi Patel, who shifted from Patan constituency to Ghatlodia in Ahmedabad city, won by 1,10,395 votes. She polled 1,54,599 votes while her nearest rival Ramesh Patel (Dudhwala) of Congress got 44,204 votes.

The second-highest margin was achieved by Modi himself, who won from Maninagar for the third time, defeating Congress's Shweta Bhatt by 86,373 votes.

Modi got 1,20,470 votes to Shweta's 34,097 votes.

On the other hand, Punambhai Parmar of Congress defeated Vipul Patel of BJP by just 162 votes in Sojitra in Anand district. Punambhai Parmar polled 65,210 votes, Vipulkumar Patel polled 65,048.

In Kalol Assembly constituency in Gandhinagar district, Congress's Baldev Thakor defeated Atul Patel of BJP by 343 votes. Thakor got 64,757 votes and the BJP candidate received 64,414 votes.

Dilip Patel of BJP in Anand polled 82,956 votes to beat Kantibhai Sodha Parmar of Congress -- who polled 81,969 votes -- by 987 votes.

Devgadhbaria constituency in Dahod district, which was bagged by NCP in 2007, was won by the BJP this time with a margin of 83,753 votes.

Bachubhai Khabad of BJP polled 1,13,582 votes here to NCP's Bhupendrasinh Chauhan's 29,829 votes.

Ellisbridge Assembly seat, a BJP bastion, recorded the fourth highest margin.

BJP MLA Rakesh Shah defeated his nearest rival Kamlesh Shah of Congress by 76,672 votes there. Gujarat Parivartan Party's Jagruti Pandya, whose late husband was a MLA from the same seat, polled 9,075 votes.
