Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said a martial arts school would be set up to commemorate the memory of Sikh warrior Baba Banda Singh Bahadur near Lohgarh in Yamunanagar district.
Also, Adi Badri, near Lohgarh, would be developed as a tourist destination at a cost of Rs 15.26 crore, he said while speaking at a state-level programme organised to mark 300th martyrdom year of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur in Lohgarh, he was quoted as saying by an official release.
Khattar announced that keeping in view the spiritual and archaeological significance of Adi Badri, it would be developed as a tourist destination.
"With its natural beauty and historical significance, Lohgarh would also be developed as a tourist spot," he said.
A three-km road connecting Adi Badri, the point of origin of the mythical Saraswati river, with Lohgarh would be constructed.
Besides, a dam would also be constructed to ensure year-round supply of water to Lohgarh.
A two-km long road and bridge connecting Bhagwanpur village and Lohgarh would be constructed on Som River.
The Chief Minister said a facade that looks like a fort's wall would be constructed near the border of Himachal Pradesh and Haryana. Discussions on this would be held with HP government, he said.
The Shobha Yatra which commenced from Reasi in Jammu and Kashmir on May 31, reached Panchkula yesterday. Today, it passed through Ambala and reached Lohgarh Sahib.
The Yatra would pass through various districts of the state in the next few days and reach Faridabad on June 9. It would then reach Mehrauli area in Delhi where Baba Banda Singh Bahadur was martyred, the release said.
