Haryana Assembly pays tributes to Uttarakhand victims

On the opening day of monsoon session of Haryana Assembly here today, the House paid tributes to the victims of mid-June Uttarakhand tragedy.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Randeep Singh Surjewala moved the obituary resolution and paid tributes to the departed souls.
Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Speaker Kuldeep Sharma, opposition members including Ashok Arora of INLD, Anil Vij of BJP and Renuka Bishnoi of HJC (BL) also paid tributes.
The members of the House observed a two minute silence to pay homage to the departed souls.
Tributes were also paid to senior political leaders and persons who lost their lives in the Naxal attack at Jiram Ghati in Bastar district of Chhattisgarh on May 25.
Grief was also expressed for the untimely demise of school children "who lost their lives due to food poisoning at a primary school in Saran district of Bihar on July 16" and of those six innocent children who were swept away by Ghaggar river near Burj Kotian village in Panchkula district on July 24.
The House also paid tributes to navy officers and sailors who lost their lives in multiple explosions in INS Sindhurakshak submarine in Mumbai on August 14 and to those pilgrims who lost their lives in a train mishap near Dhamara Ghat railway station in Khagaria district of Bihar on August 19.
Tributes were also paid to senior political leaders, freedom fighters and martyrs since the budget session.
