Haryana government has sought 14,000 personnel of para-military forces for the Assembly polls due in October.
"In Lok Sabha elections, the state had got 74 companies (7,400 personnel) of para-military forces. For the Assembly polls we have sought 140 companies (14,000 personnel)," Additional Chief Secretary Roshan Lal said today.
Lal reviewed the law and order situation in a meeting with Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police of Gurgaon, Mewat, Mahendragarh and Rewari districts in Gurgaon in view of the upcoming Assembly polls.
He asked the DCs and SPs to get the staff that would be put on duty in elections trained in use of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).
"Also, when the election date is announced, the police should keep an eye on those staying in hotels, inns and restaurants," he told the SPs.
