The Haryana government will replicate in its state the Madhya Pradesh government's ambitious Lado Abhiyan scheme, which aims to eradicate child marriage.
After 'Ladli Laxmi 'and 'Beti Bachao', Lado Abhiyan is the third scheme of Madhya Pradesh to earn national recognition and replicated by several states, Madhya Pradesh Women and Child Development Minister Maya Singh said here today.
Both 'Ladli Laxmi' and 'Beti Bachao' schemes focuses on saving the girl child.
She said that a team of Haryana's Women and Child Development department will visit Madhya Pradesh in the last week of August to study it.
It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has recently conferred 'Pradhan Mantri Lok Sewa Utkrishtata Puruskar' for year 2014 to Lado Abhiyan.
During his visit to Madhya Pradesh, British Home Minister had also lauded excellent results of the campaign, Singh added said.
The Minister informed that Lado Abhiyan was implemented in the state in February 2013 and its main objective is to eradicate social evil of child marriage.
For this, a campaign is being carried out in 51 districts for last three years. Core groups have been formed in every village and ward to change people's mindset on the issues.
Strict administrative action has been ensured to prevent child marriages.
