The Jharkhand High Court Friday commuted the death sentence of a rape and murder convict into imprisonment for life.
The bench of Justices H C Mishra and Ratnaker Bhengra converted the death sentence of Kashi Nath Singh.
Singh had appealed against the death sentence handed by the sessions court, which found him guilty in rape and murder of a girl in 2007 at Baliappur in Dhanbad district.
