The Madras High Court today directed the Election Commission to consider a representation seeking removal of the picture of sun in the English alphabet book of LKG class.
The First Bench Comprising Acting Chief Justice Satish K Agnihotri and Justice M M Sundresh gave the direction on a petition filed by P Suresh and posted the matter for further hearing to April nine.
In his petition Suresh raised objections to the picture of sun drawn opposite to the alphabet S, which he alleged that it resembled to a political party.
He also raised objection to another drawing of rising sun in another page of the same book.
He submitted that he had given the representation to the education department authorities but no action was taken.
