The Allahabad High Court today dismissed a petition filed by former Uttar Pradesh minister Rakesh Dhar Tripathi challenging initiation of a probe against him by the state vigilance department in a disproportionate assets case.
A Division Bench comprising Justice Dharnidhar Jha and Justice Pankaj Naqvi rejected the petition saying "there is no need to interfere in the investigation".
Tripathi, who was the Minister for Higher Education in the previous Mayawati government, had alleged the charges levelled against him arose from political enmity.
