A Division Bench of Justice R.Sudhakar and Justice V.M.Velumani, who heard a PIL on the issue filed by MDMK General Secretary Vaiko, said the court had already ordered to remove the Karuvelam trees as they destroyed the eco-ssystem 20 months ago, but till now no action had been taken.
When the Government's counsel said the government had convened a meeting to discuss the issue, the bench asked "What have they been doing for twenty 20 months.The government is only trying to cheat the people."
He claimed that Kerala they had eradicated the tree to protect the environment.
The bench invited suggestions for removing the 'Seemai Karuvelam' trees.
