"We have plans to provide training to 20,000 college graduates across the country," HCL TalentCare, Chief Business Officer, Vijay Iyer told reporters here today.
The talent solutions venture is currently running Young Engineer Program (YEP) and Young Graduate Program (YGP).
YEP is a fully- residential initiative designed to transform engineering graduates into professionals. This flagship offering from HCL TalentCare helps students develop relevant skills and launch their career and it includes customized training with personalized workbooks and industry-approved certifications, company official said.
"We have two centres up and running in Hyderabad and Chennai. Scholars from our initial YEP batches are close to completing their On-Job-Training. After our success in the southern part of the country, we are now planning to extend our offerings and further reach out to other regions.
While we have primarily focussed on students who have graduated in the year 2015, we are also seeing significant interest from the 2013 and 2014 batches - which only validates our initial hypothesis about the sheer magnitude and extent of the skill-gap," Iyer said.
He further said, "We are now going to focus in North India and reach out to colleges from various key cities like Chandigarh, Jaipur, Indore and many more cities in the next couple of months. We believe North India is currently under-served and HCL TalentCare can play a key role in transforming the lives of these graduates.
