HDFC Bank distributed coins worth Rs 4.40 lakh, issued fresh currency worth Rs 13.10 lakh and exchanged soiled notes worth Rs 6.90 lakh to over 712 people during the day as part of the initiative, a HDFC statement said.
The coin melas were planned by the HDFC Bank's Patna Currency Chest.
The purpose of the mela was to distribute coins to the general public as well as provide fresh currency notes in exchange for soiled and mutilated ones.
The coins were distributed in the presence of Chandan Rukhaiyar, AGM, RBI Issue Department.
