The incident was reported at around 8.45 pm yesterday when Prince Tewatia (28), son of Head Constable Mukesh Kumar, and his friend Paras Sharma were on their way to Lado Sarai, said a police officer.
Sharma told the police that as they approached the Hanuman temple at Lado Sarai, they saw four persons standing in the middle of the road with their two scooters.
Tewatia asked them to give way but they refused. As he went past them, his motorcycle grazed one of the scooters, said the officer.
After stabbing him multiple times, the accused fled the spot, said the officer, adding that Tewatia, however, managed to call up Sharma and inform him that he had been attacked.
Sharma alerted the police, who reached the spot to find that Tewatia had already been rushed to a hospital by the passersby.
Sharma told the police that Tewatia and him were employees of a call centre at Udyog Vihar in Gurugram. They were returning from work when the incident occurred.
He was admitted to the AIIMS Trauma Centre, they said, adding that he was unfit to give a statement.
The police are scanning the CCTV footage collected from the area and questioning the locals to ascertain the identity of the four accused.
