Head constable shot dead in Jaipur

A head constable was today shot dead allegedly by a criminal in Nagaur district in Kuchman Thana area here, police said today.
Head Constable Faiz Muhammad was allegedly shot dead by Vijendra when the constable along with SHO was going to carry out a search in a matter relating to some theft in the area, Additional Superintendent of Police Ram Kumar said.
Upon seeing a suspicious vehicle near Bhavanta village, police followed it and Vijendra who was behind the wheels, allegedly fired shots at the constable, Kumar said.
Muhammed was immediately taken to a hospital in Kuchman where doctors declared him brought dead, the ASP said.

The constable's body has been kept in a mortuary.
Police has barricaded the area and a search is on for the absconding accused.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has declared a compensation of Rs 22 lakh to the deceased's family and a house.
