Himachal a model of progressive hill state: Virbhadra Singh

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today lauded entrepreneurs for rapid industrial growth in the state, which not only contributed to economic development but also generated employment avenues on a large scale.
Speaking at a function to honour the entrepreneurs, Singh said, "We should feel proud the way Himachal Pradesh has evolved from an agrarian economy to industrial society with numerous changes in technology which impacted the workforce and economic power, and today stands as the model of developed and progressive hill state in the country".
He released a coffee table book on the occasion incorporating the success stories of the entrepreneurs, who made a mark by their efforts in industrial sector.
The Coffee table book has been compiled and written by Superna Jain, who shifted her focus from writing love stories to highlight the life and times of entrepreneurs of the state.
Singh said that the entrepreneurs can be a source of inspiration and the book describes the struggle they have gone through to climb the ladder of success.
He also honoured the youngest entrepreneur, Subodh Gupta from Microtek, besides Satya Prakash Thakur, who runs the Bhuttico industry famous for Kullu Shawls which has made its presence felt worldwide.
Health and Revenue Minister Kaul Singh Thakur said that the industrialists have brought a good name to the state and their efforts should be highlighted which could be only done by the media.
