HLL Chairman and Managing Director R P Khandelwal, inaugurated AMRIT (Affordable Medicines and Reliable Implants for Treatment) outlet in Pulayanarkotta, and Hindlabs' blood donation centre near General Hospital junction, on Monday.
"AMRIT pharmacy at Pulayanarkotta offers 10 per cent to 40 per cent discount from the MRP for all items it provides, including medicines (branded and generic), surgical consumables, cosmetics, baby food, skin care products, medical devices and instruments:, Khandelwal said.
AMRIT is at Kottamukku at Pulayanarkotta, which is also near the Chest Hospital, Institute of Diabetology, Indian Air Force camp,Akkulam factory and HLL Research and Development.
A flagship programme of the Health Ministry that has completed its first year, AMRIT is being implemented through HLL, which has been setting up pharmacies at major Government hospitals across the country to dispense the medicines.
Similarly, HLL has opened a Hindlabs Diagnostics Centre and Specialty Clinic in the city to provide quality healthcare and diagnostic facilities at affordable costs, particularly to the poorer sections of society.
"HLL has started diagnostic clinics in other states, but the outpatient unit at the specialty clinic is first of its kind in Thiruvananthapuram.
Hindlabs offers consultation in the morning and evening by doctors specialized in various fields such as General Medicine, diabetology, ENT, gastroenterology, gynaecology and paediatrics', Khandelwal said.
Hindlabs also provides diagnostics in various fields, including clinical biochemistry, clinical pathology, microbiology and molecular biology.
