Marking the 37th anniversary of National Rail Museum (NRM), the 'Hop-On Hop-Off' bus service, operated by Delhi tourism for sight seeing in the capital, today added it as one of its destinations.
"The NRM has come to the Delhi's tourist map with the Ho-Ho bus service linking it," Chairman Railway Board Arunendra Kumar said after flagging off the first tourist bus service from the rail museum here.
Popularly called Ho-Ho service, the bus service was launched on the occasion of celebration of 37 years of NRM.
Spelling out future plan of the museum, Kumar said "there are 91 exhibits including old locomotives, coaches, turntables, fire engines and we hope to revive all these exhibits in next six months as NRM has launched a programme to bring them back to life."
He said old things with the heritage look have to remain look new and that is a challenge.
On Rail Tariff Authority (RTA), CRB said,"notification has already been issued and process is on for constituting the body with four members and a chairman. We are hoping to constitute it before the code of conduct comes into effect."
However, Kumar said "it will take some time for the RTA to give us suggestion on rates and it is expected to take one year at least for the RTA to suggest some measures."
On its advisory role, Kumar said "it is clearly written that advisory will be ordinarily accepted. If RTA suggestions will not be accepted then railways have to explain the reasons why it can't be accepted. Now it has been done through executive order later on legislative measure will follow by amending the Railways Act."
Chairman Railway Board also said 17 routes have been identified for introducing premier trains on dynamic fares.
"Last year, we had launched a premier train on dynamic fares. After that we have identified 17 routes where waiting list is always there.
