Thousands of people today witnessed 'lathamaar' Holi of Barsana here, which marks the beginning of colourful Holi festival of Brij Bhumi region.
"In spite of heavy influx of pilgrims, no untoward incident took place," District Magistrate Vishal Chauhan said.
The Rangili Gali of Barsana presented a peculiar sight this evening, when baton wielding women of Barsana attacked shield holding men from Nandgaon, amidst chanting of Rasia song 'Fag Khelan Barsane Aye Hain, Natwar Nandkishor'.
Men were trying to drench womenfolk with colours while women were reciprocating with attack of baton.
