Holiday had been declared in areas where Panchayat elections are being held in three phases on January 1, 3 and 5 and Kangra district where polling is slated for January 10 and 12, officials said today.
Besides, January 10 would be holiday in 52 municipalities, including 29 Municipal Councils and 23 Nagar Panchayats, going to polls in single phase.
The code of conduct for polls would remain force till January 15 in urban areas and January 13 in rural areas.
