Homeguard killed in firing by dacoits

A Homeguard was killed when dacoits fired at a police patrol party in West Midnapore district, police said today.
Homeguard Pranab Soren (26) who was part of a police highway patrol party which they intercepted a gang of dacoits at Ghatal area.
When challenged by the police the dacoits fired at the police team killing Soren yesterday and fled, the police said.
Soren was a resident of Hatikatwa village of West Midnapore district.
