The exams were conducted at nine centres at Shimla and Dharamshala for filling up seven posts of Civil Judge (Junior Division).
Chairman, HPPSC, K S Tomar said prior to this year the recruitment to Civil Judge was conducted once in a year, but is now being conducted twice a year.
3,631 candidates had applied online for the examination, while 2,528 candidates were admitted provisionally. Out of which 1,374 candidates appeared in the preliminary examination, he said.
148 candidates have been declared qualified and are eligible for appearing in the mains examination to be held from October 22 to 26, he added.
