Young shuttler Kidambi Srikanth, who created history after clinching the China Open title last week by beating twice Olympic champion Lin Dan, and Tollywood actress Regina Cassandra joined the organisers at a press conference here today to announce the event.
"It's unbelievable that this is the 12th edition of the Run. It promotes health as well. I ask everybody to join," Srikanth said.
Cassandra, who took part in the Run last year, said it was an "exhilarating experience".
Eminent athlete Milkha Singh would attend the run. A video message of the legendary sprinter was played on the occasion.
Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Jitender said elaborate security arrangements will be made for the event.
Started in 2003 by the Foundation, Hyderabad 10K Run aims to bring the city together irrespective of the socio- economic status of the populace and promote health, fitness and sports among the people.
