A man from Godda district of Jharkhand was today apprehended by the Hyderabad police on the charge of illegal possession of a revolver.
Acting on a tip-off, the sleuths of Commissioner's Task Force (west zone) nabbed Mohd Ifthekar Ansari, a helper at L&T (Metro), from near Brundavan Colony here, after a country-made revolver was seized from him.
He had purchased the revolver from a man called Deepak, a native of Bihar, for Rs 5,000 and was trying to sell it at a higher rate, a release issued by city police said.
He was handed over to Golconda Police Station for further probe.
