Jonas, 23, and Hudson, 37, have been spotted out and about several times over the past year, but they have always maintained they are just good friends, reported People magazine.
Jonas finally set the record straight on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" when host, Ellen DeGeneres, asked him if he's single or not.
"You're really single right now," host Ellen DeGeneres states after discussing his solo Met Gala appearance.
"I really am," Jonas confirmed. "Yeah I am."
In a not-so-subtle transition, Degeneres jokingly asked, "So how's Kate Hudson doing? She's good?"
"We had a group dinner the night before the Met Gala. Lots of people and she was there and I was there."
Trying to really convince the afternoon talk show host that he and the "Mother's Day" actress have a platonic relationship, Jonas added, "It was a group."
DeGeneres, however, didn't really believe him. "Uh-huh," she says. "Whatever.
