An illegal gun factory has been unearthed by the security forces in Dhalai district and four persons were arrested, the police today said.
Acting on a tip-off, Tripura police and Assam Rifles jointly raided Bhaktapara, a remote tribal hamlet yesterday, and busted the gun manufacturing factory.
They also arrested four persons, including a woman.
Eight guns and 200 rounds of cartridges were seized from the factory, they said.
The police is trying to ascertain whether the four were involved with any insurgent group.
