Independent woman MLA resist eviction from Bihar Assembly

Bihar Legislative Assembly today witnessed a piquant situation when an Independent woman Legislator fought with women marshals while being taken out of the house for staging fierce protest against police action on her and her supporters who had jammed road after running down of 12 devotees by a Container in Aurangabad on Tuesday.
Independent MLA Rashmi Jyoti from Dehri in Rohtas district had entered into the well of the house demanding removal of SP for allegedly unleashing violence against her and her supporters during the road jam after the mishap.
TV footage had shown the woman MLA waving her slippers when Aurangabad Superintendent of Police Upendra Sharma had gone to remove jam on July 29. An FIR was lodged against the MLA later on by the police.

Speaker Udai Narayan Choudhary directed house marshals to take her out for disrupting proceedings.
As four women marshals approached her, the MLA fought with them and later squatted on the floor to resist eviction.
She was supported by opposition BJP women members Bhagirathi Devi and Meena Devi. They came in Rashmi Jyoti's support and resisted marshals efforts to take her out.

BJP men members were also seen blocking the passage to the door.
When things deteriorated, Speaker adjourned the house for 45 minutes in the morning.
When the House reassembled, on suggestion of the opposition leader Nand Kishore Yadav, the Speaker allowed the Independent MLA to raise the issue during zero hour.

Rashmi Jyoti alleged use of police force against her at the behest of Aurangabad Superintendent of Police Upendra Sharma and demanded his removal.
When minister in-charge for Home Vijay Chaudhary rose to speak on behalf of government, Rashmi Jyoti protested and insisted CM to reply. She was backed by BJP.
Later, Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi said he has asked Deputy Inspector General of Police, Magadh range and Commissioner to provide him details of event in 24 hours.
"Needful action will be taken on the basis of their report," Manjhi told the House.
At least 12 pilgrims,five of them women, were killed and 22 others injured when a speeding container ran over them on the New Delhi-Kolkata NH 2 in Bihar's Aurangabad district in wee hours of July 29.

The heavy vehicle lost control and ran over the 'kanwarias' (devotees of Lord Shiva) sleeping on the roadside.
The MLA's husband Pradeep Joshi, an ex-Legislator, who organise trip for devotees to Deogarh in Jharkhand during shravan had jammed the road following the incident.
