Indian Angel Network invests $600K in Flatpebble.Com

Indian Angel Network (IAN) today said it has invested USD 600,000 (about Rs 3.93 crore) in Hyderabad-based Flatpebble, an online marketplace for hiring photographers, stylists and other service providers for events.
The funding will be used to innovate product, increase supply depth as well as expand into other categories, IAN said in a statement.
Sanjay Jesrani and Subram Kapoor have led this round on behalf of IAN and will join the board of the company, it added.

Essar Group partners BlackBerry for enterprise solution * BlackBerry today said India's Essar Group has upgraded to BES12, a multi-operating system enterprise solution offered by the Canadian firm.
Essar Group selected BES12 to securely manage their data, applications, and devices including iOS, Android, and BlackBerry smartphones, it said in a statement.
BES12 centralises device management from a single command and control centre, and supports multiple mobile platforms.
The upgrade will enables Essar Group to maintain tight control over the large, complex application management environment within the organisation.

Care Ratings appoints S B Mainak as Director * Credit rating agency Care Ratings today said it has inducted Life Insurance Corporation of India's Managing Director S B Mainak as its Director and also as Non-Executive Chairman of the Board.
Mainak is a Chartered Accountant and has been with LIC since 1983.
He is also Chairman of LIC Nomura Mutual Fund Trustee and on the Board of National Stock Exchange of India, Mahindra & Mahindra, ITC, LIC Cards Services, LIC (Nepal).
He is also Director of LIC Housing Finance and LIC HFL AMC. He is also Deputy President of Insurance Institute of India and member of Governing Board of National Insurance Academy, Pune.
