The woman, identified as R P, was not present at the Dubai Court of Misdemeanours yesterday to answer the charges of attempted suicide.
Prosecutors said R P was taken to a hospital on December 20, a local media report said today.
On being questioned, the woman said she had argued with her family during a phone call to India and felt desperate.
"But I decided not to end my life but only take a little bit of Dettol in order to have my family sympathise with me," R P told prosecutors but did not explain the cause of the altercation.
R P has been summoned to attend the next hearing on Thursday.
