Indian women long-distance runners are currently practicing here under the guidance of coach Nikolay Snezarev for the Commonwealth Games to be held in Glasgow from July 23.
Preeja Sridharan, Sudha Singh, Kavita Raut, Monica Apte, Jayesha and Surya have been practicing for the last three days at the Madras Regiment Centre (MRC) ground near here.
Since the climate here is similar to Glasgow, the training and physical exercise would help the athletes to acclimatize with the conditions, and they will not face any problems, an MRC source said.
The athletes would be here for one more week.
