Speaking at the inaugural function of Rajasthan's first Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) centre in Dausa district, Singhvi said that it is the responsibility of lawyers and judges to make all possible efforts to ensure timely delivery of justice to people.
He said the judiciary was not responsible for the pendency of cases but those in the system should play more active and effective role for improvement.
Noting that the level of trust of people in the system is reducing because of delay in justice delivery, he said that initiatives like Lok Adalat among others would improve the situation and would also be beneficial for lawyers.
Singhvi also called upon people to take steps to protect environment.
He released a book 'ADR mechanism' for publicising the concept of Lok Adalat and ADR system.
Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court Arun Mishra was also present on the occasion.
