Preetam, aged around 25 years, was sent to judicial custody on May 18 in connection with a rape case and was found hanging with a piece of cloth in the bathroom this morning, police said.
Preetam allegedly raped a minor girl in May in Kaithwara area where she had gone to attend a marriage ceremony, the police said, adding the body was handed over to the family members after post mortem.
